Of course there's no bodycam footage to support how the officers feared for their life against a dude with no legs or tasers couldn't stop him from hurting anyone.

I'd like to say I'm shocked that they had to shoot a guy with no legs for attempting to flee, but if he had no arms they'd probably have shot him for refusing to raise his hands.

Threatening with a knife? Oh please. What's he gonna do, DIO Za Warudo throw the knife? The lack of body cams also makes me have to assume he didn't even have the knife out or anything.

The guy is hobbling away on his tiny stumps while officers casually sonter behind him while there are police cars blocking his exits. Bullshit those cops were afraid of anything, this guy didn't need to die.

It's strange that the US seems to be the only nation in the world that routiney can't apprehend "armed and dangerous" suspects without shooting them.

That was not a "fair, next" in any way, shape or form. I read the article, and I watched the clip someone recorded from their phone. They could have easily taken him into custody, but they chose to be judge, jury and executioner.

the case was a reminder that officers can create danger instead of protecting people: The way they are trained to do the job is to kill people. That is not about safety. This man was a double amputee, but they felt the need to shoot him. They didnt do that because they had to, they did that because they didnt care about his life.

"He was running right at me. I did what I had to do!"

Did they have artificial limbs? I met a woman that lost both legs, and at least one arm, but with artificial limbs she had run marathons and been in weight lifting competitions.

Okay, let's assume all of this is true.

I'm supposed to rely on the police to protect me. Am I supposed to feel safe trusting my protection to people who are so terrified of a man with no legs and only one arm to help propel himself forward, considering the other was apparently holding a knife, that the only thing they can do is execute him?

Like, let's ignore the corruption, the fact they can't even perform their primary function well is reason enough to get rid of them.

This particular guy was running away on stumps while holding a machete. I wasn't joking when I said he was literally officer Baby Legs from Rick & Morty. The cops that "feared for their lives" were a good 15 feet behind the guy when they shot him in the back.
