I still don't see Reynolds as Pikachu, figured it would have a whiny feminine voice the way it says Pika! or whatever it does.

Plotwise for DP, Ryan is a man that body-swaps with a Pikachu, so it's not even kapable of bad kasting. You kould throw any adult male voice in there and it'd be fine.
