It is rare for Disney and Pixar to be so soundly beaten in any year by others, but holy fuck they are both far better than anything Disney and Pixar had in 2022.

Also, Cate Blanchette being the voice of a monkey is amazing. XD

It's a little sad to see Disney not really give much attention to Walt Disney Animation Studios anymore. It's their namesake... and it helped them out in the early 2010's in getting their relevancy back when Tangled started the new renaissance for Disney. Quite sad.

Pixar has been WEAK for a while. Haven't been interested in anything since Up (or Toy Story 3 really), TBQH.

What are you talking about, all the Disney movies have been great the past 10 years. The Disney revival is the best thing to happen

I feel like all the movies post-Moana don't have the same kick to them.

And, well, my point of Disney not giving them attention... did you see how they completely decided to not market their last movie? It's not about how you like the movies, but how Disney is willing to completely let them flop nowadays. They don't see them as a pillar of their company.

Disney is just having an off year. Encanto is better than any of the 2022 stuff.

When was the last time Disney made an adult animated film? I dont think if Del Toro's pitched his Pinocchio film to Disney they would have done it. Seems their realm is closer to the Puss and Boots film.

I always thought in the 40s-60s it was always Warner Bros who made the adult cartoons though people still showed it to kids.
