They've been putting out consistent spunk-tastic power pop for decades.

I don't think they suck, they just haven't been as good.

They've managed to make their sound more contemporary for modern music styles, and it's generally a case of "new thing bad" for their longtime fans.

Rivers seems like a cool guy too

They release some good, some bad and it mostly evens out to be pretty average to me. I ain't gonna sit here and pretend that they can't touch their 90s output anymore, though. I'd also say that most people that still shit talk Weezer for their new stuff 20 years after they were most relevant probably aren't even listening to the new stuff, they just assume it's bad because they heard someone say so.

Im a Weezer stan, but they have definitely gotten more hit and miss lately.

a lot of their post 2000 stuff is hit and miss. Hes always had the ability to write great music and I appreciate that they go wherever Rivers muse takes them but sometimes that experimentation is just bad

theres a great album among the 28 EP tracks they released last year but also some definite junk
