Honestly the fact that she tried to justify the score with gameplay reasons takes away from her point imho

It is not remotely close to a 1/10 game for any sort of game play reason, and you are your weakest argument.

6/10 is not better than average for a AAA game

A 5/10 is by definition average. It's literally middle of the road. Nobody is obliged to follow along with the lizard brain desire of major game reviewers to grade games like a math quiz.

Most people only play games that are like say "an 8 or above for their target audience" so they have no real frame of reference for what a really bad game is.

There is a lot written about video game critics and how they score.

Even if you have just done a cursory glance at meta critic you would see that games do not get 1/10. A 1/10 is not a score any game has ever received for merit outside of games that are intentionally bad or noteworthy for how bad they are which draws attention to their badditude

The entire point is that this breaking of societal norms creates more buzz around Hogwarts Legacy

And like the old saying goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
