DKC trilogy on SNES is honestly my favorite trilogy in gaming. DKC1 has the best atmosphere, DKC2 has the best level design, DKC3 has the best side content.

Just play them, they're fun >_>

1 is easy. 2 ramps up the difficulty right from the start. It assumes that you played DK1

Yeah

The bosses are weird af, you get sawed in half, zapped by lightning, etc

It feels like stepping outside the borders of dkc to the real weird shit of the "country"

They are great.
The graphics are made with the scanlines you got on the SDTV in mind, which makes them look extra weird on a HDTV.

They're hard as hell but I think it's the second one mostly. Most people who play it have been playing it for decades.

@Lost_All_Senses basically carried me through 2 lol

You do a sequence on the file select for a blank file (LRR LRR LR LR) and type in "TUFST" and then start the file and you're good to go.

Id argue the gap wasn't that bad for me being part of those who played it for decades. Also was in the middle of a platforming kick already. Regardless, it was super fun and never felt like I was carrying lol. Not in a dramatic sense at least :p. Like 60/40

IMO they aged really well. 2 and 3 have a secret world and those levels are difficult as balls, but the main levels are generally a fair challenge.
