Sea of Stars looked good. Like a Seiken Densetsu type game.

I love the Baten Kaitos games, glad they're getting another chance to attract fans. That said, barring major QoL updates, especially for the 1st game, I don't know if there's much point owning them twice.

Xenoblade DLC... new hero doesn't seem based off XC1 like the last one was blatantly based off of XC2 (Poppi).
And then they made Alvis a villain? But not Pythra? The anti-XC1 bias w/ XC3 is getting downright noxious at this point...
I haven't bought the DLC yet, and I'm still not sold on doing so. Which is a shame, XC3 has been such a letdown overall.

Speaking of letdowns from the past year... Bayonetta 3. Who the hell is this prequel thing supposed to be for, what audience? And I think it's $60? Hard pass. Extra uninterested in learning about Bayonetta's past now for the same reason I didn't give a shit about Black Widow by the time that movie came out (spoilers b/c of the shared reason. that being: they're already killed off).

That's... a reach, to say the least. For one thing, Alvis appeared for all of 10 seconds and said nothing, so getting "he's a villain" from that is absolutely jumping to conclusions. For another, Alvis has always been aggressively neutral, siding with Zanza when it was appropriate to do so to fulfill his role in fate's machinations, and siding with Shulk when that was the appropriate choice. Pneuma, on the other hand, was unambiguously good (with a few harmful mistakes along the way), in contrast to Malos being unambiguously bad (with some questions about his culpability in that). On top of that, Pyra and Mythra remained as active characters after the ending of 2, clearly allying themselves (in the biblical sense WINKYFACE) with Rex and the others, whereas Alvis completely vanished and nobody knew where he was or why. There's absolutely zero reason to expect to end up fighting Pneuma unless Shulk ends up fighting Rex (not implausible), but plenty of plausible scenarios where we end up fighting Alvis. To end up fighting Alvis and not Pneuma is not "anti-XC1 bias," it just makes sense within the established facts of the series' story.

I also really don't know what you're talking about when you accuse XC3 of being riddled with "anti-XC1 bias," and I say this as someone who considered XC1 to be his favourite game ever before 3 managed the monumental feat of dethroning it (i.e. not exactly a fanboy of 2).

That's not a particularly sensible reason to be disinterested. Every single character in everything will eventually die, whether on- or off-screen. If you blow off anything that explores characters just because they'll eventually end up dead (or otherwise stop having stories written about them), you'll never end up enjoying any stories at all. If you aren't interest, just don't be interested. You don't have to justify it by making up some nonsense reason.

I'm kinda scared to play Game & Watch Gallery 3. I sunk waaayyyy too much time into that game as a kid. Was addicted to trying to unlock everything.

I have the Switch one and always almost sell it, but it still is just...so pretty. but I think DX is still my favourite version.

I hope they improve the weapon durability for Breath of the Wild 2. I still need to play the first one though.

I'll probably pick up Pikmin 4 eventually. I still need to play 2 after buying it during last year's summer sale.

Honestly, the durability isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Early-game, it's a meaningful survival mechanic that you have to overcome intelligently, but it pretty quickly gets downgraded to little more than a minor annoyance, which gets increasingly minor as you progress. I'd still say it ultimately wasn't a very good idea (or at least, wasn't a very good implementation of what could have been a better idea), but it's not that bad.

If it's totally absent from TotK, I won't miss it, especially where it doesn't look like we're going with the "build yourself up from nothing" start that BotW had.

i feel like the main problem with durability was being "rewarded" with weapons that last all of 3 minuites
hard to get too excited seeing a cool sword knowing its just gonna get tossed at a enemy

still an annoying mechanic.

they could have had several mid-game weapons not break.
just having earlier ones break would actually fit the theme better

Maybe That said, the later ones did have pretty good durability And lasted for a while

I rewatched the Tears of the Kingdom trailer. There was a Redead and there's a shot of Hylia Bridge with a Gleeok on it :0

No, I have the original cart and DX cart, DX on virtual console, the new remake, and now DX on Switch.

DX is my favorite too. I like the colors/color dungeon and the glitch to get special tunics.

Yeah this.
Kills a lot of the desire to explore when you know you're going to be rewarded with trash that'll break right away.

I just want 6 or 7 real dungeons and bosses.

mostly this for me. I seemed to recognize a more traditional boss in the trailer.

you can throw them at the balloon ones, and after they spit it back the durability will be full.

still an unnecessary hassle though
