How's the combat?

I enjoy it. Nothing really feels new, but that isnt a bad thing.

you can roll/party to dodge like a soulslike game
enemies will have shields that can only be piercers. by certain types of spells. Red, yellow, purple etc. if they have a red shield, hit them with incendio for example.

hard is plenty of a challenge.

It's good. No issues.

I could spend hours messing around in the room of requirement just customizing shit but I need more money.

I would really have preferred for the game to be more simlike, where you have to attend classes and build friendships and stuff instead of frolicking around in caves and the forest and wherever else

yeah this is the main reason i have pretty much no interest in this game. waiting patiently for witchbrook

I think I'm overleveled. Maxed out level 28 but it's not progressing to level 29. Haven't done any of the act 2 quests yet like attending the Beasts class. 19 more combat challenges away from finishing that one entirely, also did all of the Merlin challenges I could reach

Max level is supposed to be 40. You probably have to do act 2 first, unless you ran into some weird glitch.

Also does anyone know if selling saved creatures at the shop does anything negative towards storyline or anything yet?

I have no idea, but if this game is fun enough for a replay, I plan on making another file in another house.

All I have heard about the different houses is they have unique intro quests. But supposedly they all merge into one main quest at a certain point and then I think your house maybe doesn't matter anymore but not sure

I thought I read somewhere that Hufflepuff maybe? Has a quest to Azkaban that isn't available with the other houses. Wife picked Hufflepuff so we will see, don't know how valid that is.

I played a good 5 hours today lol. Im like level 15, done about 6 major quests. I spend a lot of time looking for pages, butterflies, cool spots. Theres just so much hidden stuff

No, running your own magical creatures puppy mill is profitable with zero consequence.

The game can even encourage it as every animal has a rare color type akin to collecting shiny Pokemon. For example, with Unicorns there is a golden variant. The special color isn't worth more when sold, but if you want to specialize in the rare variants have both parents be that color.

That's actually pretty cool. I'm gonna get to shiny hunting and see what sort of interesting stuff I can find. It's crazy how op selling creatures is to any other method at all. I really hope that they don't patch it

Just got my first shiny in the form of a white puffskein. I kinda hope that having the shiny ones does something eventually

I do wish that there was more outfit variety in what the NPCs at the school wear

i have 2. and its not a variant. all unicorns start off gold and turn silver when they mature.

Really wish there was a way to pull the camera back a bit, like in GTA.

Other than that Im loving everything, they put so much detail into the world.

I just unlocked the RoR and got a broom. Game is okayish so far.

Hogwarts is fun to explore and Hogsmead is cool. I've only ventured out into the country a bit, so I can't say too much about it.

I don't like the premise of the story so far. It seems you're the "chosen one" who is instantly good at everything. I think being a normal student would be more interesting.

The Merlin trials, treasure caves, and loot/gear system ripped straight from Assassins Creed are awful. I hate this copy-paste ubisoft crap so much. I mean I expect it from these AAA open world games but I wish these trends would die out.

I wish they made an attempt at more immersion for the school stuff. Like giving us a reason to visit the dorm/common room, and have more distinction between the houses with quests or gameplay.

Realistically, on my new PC, it takes 30 seconds to load the shaders.

Have to get to the shaders first though

My PC pretty powerful with a RTX 3080, so it loads the shaders fairly quickly. Though no doubt if you have one that runs on a potato it would probably take minutes just to start it up.

I have a 1080 though...

My friend says you can transmog, but I'm having a hard time seeing anything like that in the equipments menu. I have these stupid looking glasses, but I have it equipped because it gives a shit ton of stats.

Highlight gear with the pointer and press X on xbox or square on ps.
