Damn, 10 hour shifts and walking 1/2 hr commute in the winter for $14/hr? That's not worth it to me. Is that minimum wage where you live? And what is the weather like? Walking in the cold/rain is no fun.

I've spent most of my life not owning a car so I'm used to it. I'm just afraid I'll run into a situation I frequently ran into before, where people would scream at me as they pass me by in their cars. I remember walking home from my last job and someone threw an empty Burger King cup at me.

I recommend getting trained on as much material handling equipment as you feel comfortable with, so that you'll seem all the more attractive to one of those places later this year

Okay, $14/hr with no benefits in NJ is crazy low. Sounds like you don't have many other options so I'd still take it for now but don't stop looking

Stop tripping about that. An abscess isnt a big deal. Fringe extreme cases, sure, but usually its just pain for a few days. I used to have them almost all the time when I had a mouth full of broken and missing teeth.

You can lance it with a needle if the pressure is extreme. A dentist wont do shit if you have an abscess most of the time anyway, other than prescribe antibiotics.

Shift differential is 1.50 for for nights and 1.50 for working weekends. Sunday is 10rs at time and a half

Also, what they said ^. Being trained on forklift and such can take you a surprisingly long way. If you have the opportunity definitely get certified

Hey, don't listen to all these haters. If you don't have a job and you're looking for one, then any job is better than nothing. Give it a shot but keep looking.

It's better than nothing. But definitely don't get comfortable making money doing a simple job, from my time working in there it was pretty weird seeing people not want anything more than that job, especially the younger workers. Physically it takes too much of a toll after a year or two.

$14/hr, 10 hour shifts, mon-fri, no benefits. It pays weekly though and since I don't have a car and have driving anxiety, it's a half-hour walk to and from.

I make 13$/hour +tips with 6-9 hour shifts and some benefits.

Having to walk 30 mins there and back to a ten hour somewhat physically intensive 50 hours a week job sounds like a great way to get injured and be miserable regardless. And no Healthcare means the job could easily fuck you up.

That's very little free time and extremely draining. If desperate take if for a bit but don't stay any longer then needed.
