For me, me and my parents go on an almost annual road trip to Las Vegas and the west coast (the EVO tournament has been a usual event I like to attend.)

I actually haven't competed yet (only spectated) but the next EVO I will go to I'll make it a point to compete (probably in Tekken or DNF Duel.) It's a fun atmnosphere when I spectated in person.

These days flying is cheaper in about 90-95% of cases. Pretty dumb to drive when flying is faster, safer and cheaper. I guess if you are fine sleeping in the car on a multi-day trip that might make driving more competitive though.

Never really went on road trips much when I was younger - maybe once every 1-2 years or so.

Now I don't really go on trips at all. Free time is always at a premium and there's really nowhere I want to go all that badly.

Pre-pandemic wed go on one every year, sometimes twice a year, but we havent done one since. We may get back to it this year.
