UPDATE: Today she is doing chemo #4 but before hand her doc come in and talks to her. But she came with great news today, after 2 rounds of chemo they said she has shown significant improvements!! They have had meetings about getting her into surgery after she recovers from today's chemo session.

The tumors around her belly have all shrunk, much faster than anticipated. Only concern now is some fluids around her lungs, but it's not cancer fluids they said. They usually don't consider surgery for someone with stage 4, but because of her improvements and her age (34) they feel strongly about getting her in!

Not so much to report on. She's been feeling kind of tired and sore, but that's likely from the chemo. Nothing to be concerned about, which is awesome! She's in good spirits tho, had some friends visit and some plans with family this weekend she's excited about!

On Saturday she went to one of those fringe voodoo heal doctors. She said it was alright but a bit crazy, but she not gunna go there again lol

She's been feeling a bit of discomfort since she gotten the PCN bag removed, a bit of pressure towards to front, but that's expected since they took the bag off. She has a procedure to remove the rest of the tubing out so she's looking forward to that, she'll be able to lay down comfortably on her back again.

Next week so has an appt to schedule her surgery but she has is scheduled for chemo #4 Friday next week too, we're not sure if they'll just cancel it in favor of just moving to surgery.

Me myself, I started talking to a therapist on betterhelp which is nice. But since Sunday I've only slept roughly 4 hrs, I can't seem to shut my mind off and I don't want to take any sleep meds because I still need to work. Maybe I'll take something early tonight.

I know everyone has an opinion on tattoos with someone's name or face on it, but she means everything to me, and no matter what happens, she'll always be by me.

Sadly they didn't take the caterer tubing from her kidney, infact the clean it and put a new one on. She was very upset about that, it wasn't a good weekend. She hates it and fought with her doctors about it, but in the end I think she knew it was best. She just feels like if she has that bag on cancer is winning. Cancer changed the way she looks, she's bald, losing weight and has this bag. She just doesn't feel like herself anymore, she feels ugly and useless.

I'm trying my best to comfort her but I'm kind of just letting her rant about that, only because her mom is the opposite and thinks God and the universe will save her, (which she hates having to hear 12+hrs a day, when I'm at work).

Luckily, I think her spirits might rise up this weekend, we're having a fundraiser for her with family and friends, put on by her old red cross friends so she's excited to see them. One big ticket prize is a pair of Bruin's playoff tickets! It's gunna be fun!

Stay strong brother. Tell her to not think that way, the cancer only wins if she lets it win. It's good to let her vent but those negative thoughts need to go out the door ASAP. She's got this! We're rooting for her!

I don't know your family dynamic but I would pull her mom to the side and ask her to not bother your wife with those comments if they're upsetting your wife.

Quick fantastic update!
We saw he docs yesterday, they are ready for surgery! They have it scheduled for April 10th! Which is one day before her birthday April 11th!! It's going to be an emotional but happy day!!

Went out to eat at an Italian restaurant on Atwells Ave yesterday. Atwells Ave in Providence used to be considered (maybe still is) Little Italy in RI. There are many Italian restaurants there but it was also base for the Mob and Buddy Cianci and his buddies. This was Andino's Restaurant

Dont want to take anything away from your your wife and your topic but I know what its like. My wife has been battling breast cancer for the last 2 years, multiple surgeries, chemo, radiation, etc etc.

Quick back story about her mom, kind of makes you understand why she's like that and bit overbearingly.

First there's a language barrier between us, she speaks Brazilian Portuguese, we can communicate on simple things but big conversation my wife usually translate, and she doesn't want to upset her mom by telling her to back off.

But there's more, my wife also has 2 brothers, one is autistic and one is adopted. The autistic brother was actually a twin but they were born premature, the brother twin died. At the same time their housekeeper was also pregnant but could take care of the child so she wanted abort it, my MOL told her she had just lost a baby, have her baby and she will raise her child as twins, so the 2 boys were raised as twins. A few years later she had also lost a second infant a few weeks after birth. With my wife being her first and only daughter, there's very little I can do to make her change certain things and I don't feel right trying too. She beens through a lot, with many scars, I have to take a step back on her.

Just now catching up on the updates. That's all fantastic and I'm very glad that she's on the road to recovery. She's got this in the bag.

We're excited and anxious about the surgery next week! It's going to a long day and maybe 4-8 weeks for recovery. But we do have something to look forward to, in June we had booked a vacation to one of those resorts in the DR, she wanted to get away as soon as she's able to. It'll be nice to relax.

Sadly tho, this Friday her grandfather passed away. It's really hit her and her mother hard. They're not able to fly to Brazil for his funeral, but the family understands why. He was a good flawed person. He was mayor of their town from 97-2004, he's had it all and lost it all.

When he was mayor, one of the things he would work hard to do was get education and schools for the town, especially for the younger kids. There are a couple of schools named after him and some built on his land for the public. When he passed the newspapers cartoonist drew this of him.
