Unless you have some in demand skills that are hard to find, its hard for me to imagine that they are stable and cushy

I know people that are admin assistants and they get paid trash and some dont even have good benefits

No.

It was all the same problems as any other job. Too little pay, vanishing benefits, way too much expected of you by your employer. The only difference is that you get to sit down at a desk all day in an air-conditioned room instead of working your ass off in a 120 degree warehouse in the middle of July.

No, but mine is. Office jobs can be boring, but I much prefer that to breaking my body in a warehouse or something.

Its a different type of stress from physical labour. When I go home I dont stop thinking about my job. Its hard to unwind. I do prefer sitting down in an air conditioned room to walking around lifting shit or digging holes outside though.

If you a woman you probably get sexually harassed by your boss at least according to what I read on the internet.

All the ones I've had are, even the ones with back to back calls. But I also worked retail for 10 years, so anything is going to be better by comparison.

Im lazy af at my office job and they keep giving me raises and telling me how great Im doing. Like I literally am surfing Reddit 80% of the time. Theres brief periods where I have to buckle down and grind through something but thats it.

Not all office jobs are like that, but there are a decent amount of them that are.

Ive had great and terrible jobs, both in and out of offices.

Being in an office doesnt instantly make a job good.

I dont mind physical work so the difference between in/out of office positions is negligible for me.

It seems like they're either cushy or super stressful >_> I haven't seen an inbetween lol

They definitely aren't stable though.

I worked in finance. I was salaried, overtime was expected especially at month end. I had a boss who would have nothing urgent until a few minutes before 5 and then it had to be done that night.

Benefits were good, but thats because it was an aerospace company and it would be bad if the unioned shop employees had better benefits than the office support.

As for stable, Ive been through layoffs so nothing is stable.

It's stable until it isnt and suddenly layoffs are looming

Day length can vary massively
In previous roles i've had to pull some very late nights (current role i am out the door by 4:45pm, and by door i mean my home office door)

It is nice not being on my feet all day
It is nice having a consistent schedule
Depending on what you do, the pay ceiling is going to generally be higher than non office jobs (but there are office jobs with shit pay too)

i work at a office that deals with a hedge funds side investments and its been great. Everyone here is serious about their work- so no drama from what Ive seen. Its been about five and half months since I started and its been great.

i am in accounting- Im paid decently, have decent benefits, work only 40 hours a week and we get free lunch everyday

Im lucky because there are accounting jobs out there where people work 80 hour work weeks in busy season

its just so relaxed and chill here- as long as you do your work- you will be fine

^an environment like that I wouldnt mind
