Well, it sounds to me like the company will be even more under-staffed, and may need to shut down. No, really, I'd let the worker go and then give the company the ultimatum to either invest in more workers or lose out on everything. Sounds like you'll probably be best off looking for a different company. That's not the most sustainable management strategy, and even if the company does survive, it's really going to suck for the people doing the actual work.
