-Nero fills in for Gene, even has the dark blue coat with the hood now. Lost a limb in a fight. Has a devil hand instead of a god hand but he still winds up with two hands and the god power.
-Nico plays Olivia's role. She's snarky toward the protag and gives him the god hand/robot arms.
-Goliath looks a lot like Demon Elvis
-Malphas looks a lot like Demon Shannon
-Nero's moveset is named after gambling themed stuff, Gene used a roulette wheel for his moves.
-Both end with their protag being made to look bad by their sidekick. Gene's being chased away by Olivia and Nero is crying because Nico keeps making fun of him.
-Both have lame characters who are boring but get treated like a big deal for some reason and then turn into dumb flying demon things and get their asses kicked easily. (Belze and Vergil)
-V's name is linked to the Roman numeral for 5. The Mad Midget 5 also use the giant V as their logo, V was most likely intended to be a kind of 6th ranger for the Mad Midget 5. He dances around flamboyantly and relies on numbers to win fights just like them.
-Cavaliere Angelo was definitely inspired by Dr Ion.
-King Cerberus is like a poison chihuahua but bigger and with different elements.
-Nero's robot arms have super attacks that cause them to detonate after, similar to how Gene has to spend roulette orbs to use his moves.
-The buster arm grab is Chain Yanker but weaker.
-Both games lose most of their challenge if you just run around spamming taunts to fill your super meter.

Main difference is in God Hand the villains are trying to resurrect Satan who shows up and gets dumpstered while in DMC5 it's like Obelisk The Tormentor is too dumb to go to a supermarket and instead goes to absurd and obtuse lengths to get a piece of fruit which makes him forget about that Yamato shield crystal which hard carried him in the previous fights.
Also DMC5's protags keep losing and needing power ups while Gene straight up beats the fuck out of everyone.
