Solar_Crimson 02/17/23 7:17:19 PM #1:	Now, it's been over 15 years since I completed my one and only playthrough Tales of the Abyss, so a lot of details about the game are hazy to me now, but this is one part I do remember. When Luke got tricked by his mentor Van to unleash his latest Fonon powers, which resulted in the mining town Akzeriuth being destroyed and falling into the Qliphoth, a sub-terranean world made up of extremely-toxic water and poisonous air; you even see a young boy crying for help as he sinks into the sea, with the party unable to do anything but watch. In the aftermath of this, as the party is sailing on their own ship that survived the crash, Luke then tries to shift the blame to Van but the rest of the part aren't having it; they chew him out, and then all abandon him (though Tear and Guy come back around relatively quickly). On one hand, Luke did refuse to accept his role in the disaster, and for all of the game up until that point, he had an incredibly selfish, spoiled, childish personality so maybe it couldn't be blamed for the rest of the party finally throwing their hands up and walking away. On the other hand, he was tricked and betrayed by Van--a man whom he trusted deeply and looked up to like another father--into unleashing the power that he had, and Jade at least should have known that Luke was basically a sheltered 7-year-old in a teenager's body who was in over his head and had trouble comprehending and coping with what has transpired. --- 11/8/2022 - The day the Blue Wall intercepted the Red Wave. <cite>Solar_Crimson posted [p:971638189] in Was the pa... I think all of the God Generals had some kind of story about them. i liked that the god generals all had a rival in the main cast like/asch tear/legretta jade/dist anise/arietta natalia/largo then you have guy and sync which are the odd men out initially sync seemed like he was being set up as a rival to guy early portions kept having him face off with guy but later the two have no connection at all with each other and no rivarly and sync ends up being more part of anise and ions plotlines than guys --- yusketeer <cite>yusiko posted [p:971639628] in Was the pa... Which is weird because Vesperia itself had a ton of content and in game costumes but every Tales since has been bare bones in both departments. They still haven't released a costume as good as Yuri's Dark Enforcer or Luke's Berserker and Wild Saber outfits. The party should be aware of this, especially since it had already been established that Luke hates killing people, even soldiers that are actively trying to kill him. Of course he's going to be more open to listening to the guy who was his only real friend for the past seven years, as opposed to... a bunch of people who treat him like shit for not knowing how the world outside Fabre Manor works, and a guy who looks exactly like him and also treats him like shit.
