The tl;dr, this thing is so much better than the first PSVR. I have zero regrets on getting it.

I tried a few games, most of my time was in GT7 though. Holy shit is mind blowing. I am glad I don't easily get motion sick as I'm 100% sure some people are not gonna be able to handle tracks with the harsher elevation changes easily. I had a few times where I was expecting that roller coaster feeling cresting over a hill. I felt like I was able to better anticipate corners and hit the apex better than when driving regularly, but my times were slower. Probably because I'm breaking harder than I need to.

Visually it is so much better than PSVR1. The screens are great. It being OLED means when the screen goes black it goes actually black. Instead of the PSVR1 where when the screen went black the thing was still clearly lit up.

The feel of it is even more comfortable to me than the first one, and I wore it for my first session of playing for like 3 hours straight with no feeling of fatigue or anything. The tracking feels great. I did have to re-center my it a few times over the 3 hours, it seems to like putting the center of the vision just SLIGHTLY above my resting eye level so I feel like I'm looking upward frequently. It's easy to just look a bit lower than you want, hold the settings button and it centers it perfectly.

The single cord means it's not a fucking nightmare to plug in and connect. The new hand controllers are amazingly precise compared to the light up dildo controllers of the first one.

I'm struggling HARD to remember what button is Circle/Square/Triangle/X because of it's odd placements (I've nearly fully adjusted to X and Circle though), but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually. Being told to hit Triangle and I need to move my left thumb to the upper right is NOT natural feeling haha.

The included headphones work great and it's nice that it's kinda... built into the headset a bit.

It does take a lot of adjusting to get the vision to be perfect for me, but I feel part of that is amplified because I have a rather strong glasses prescription for an astigmatism in both eyes. It's hard to describe unless you also have glasses like this, but reds/blues will bend differently depending on it being on the center of my vision or in my peripherals, so white text will have this weird effect where the top edge of the letters of it will look redish, and the bottom edge will be blueish, for example. I need to set my glasses, THEN adjust the headset. If I try to adjust my glasses again after the fact the headset needs adjusted again, etc etc.

Anyway, I like. I'll play more later tonight too lol.

Yeah, I really liked what little I tried last night (Galaxy's Edge demo). I stopped because I was getting motion sickness, but that'll pass eventually. The only reason I didn't play the original PSVR more is I didn't want to go through hooking it up again, so the single wire definitely helps.

It launched with a lot more games than I was expecting too. I got the bundle with Horizon, so I'll try that tonight.

Yeah, Triangle and Square are on the left controller, and Circle and X are on the right. It's gonna take some time to get used to.

I'll try that later. I probably won't like it like I didn't like the PSVR for porn. Just awkward as hell.

I should get the upgrade. It was one of the free games I claimed during the pandemic offer, and I played the demo, but not the full game

I want one mainly for GT7, but Im concerned that I wouldnt touch it beyond that. Ive owned a Rift (the OG one), Vive, PSVR, Quest 2, Gear VR, even Google Cardboard, and each of them I played a bit and then they collected dust. I think the longest Ive played one was the original Rift, completing Cronos (underrated game btw) then shelving the thing.

What is it like looking at a menu for example in VR gran turismo? Is it nice and big so I can walk up and look at it? I'm wondering because I always have to enlarge game text on my TV lol

I don't have a PS5 or PSVR but I'm so glad this is a good product that hopefully sells well. This is what VR is for, not Zuckerberg's vision of a 3D Zoom meeting (and I have a Quest 2).

Oh OK. For some reason I thought moving your thumb to the right was a gesture that activates the input lol.

Shows what I know about this tech

Everything looks like just a big 2D screen in front of you until you're actively racing, or in the VR Showroom for a car.

Still yet to try it. I really am not all that interested in it lmao.

Honestly if all I do is play GT7 with this I feel ok with the purchase. I pretty much got a Series X for Forza lol (I now have a higher end gaming PC so that Series X is really collecting dust >_>)
