SA1 has some seriously creepy glitches, like in the Dreamcast version where you can permanently fuck up Super Sonic's story and render it unplayable. If you grab the second spin dash upgrade in SS' story, the next time you load the story it sends you to Hedgehog Hammer and you'll just fall endlessly down a void. Freaked the ever loving fuck out of me as a kid.

if you load an action stage first before loading that file, sonic will instead be able to select the quit option from the pause menu and will be sent to whatever action stage (and specific act of that stage) you were just at

That's actually my favorite oversight and favorite piece of absolutely random SA1 trivia honestly. I've been telling it for ages.

You can also put it in your CD player and instead of the silly female robot voice warning you get a Sonic warning from the VA of that region.
