Wondering what to see around the area.

The plaza is fun if you like shopping and food.

The Boulevard Brewery is cool if you're into touring that kinda thing, or just wanting a chill place for drinks.

Super Bowl Parade.

Art Alley downtown KC if you really love video games and Art

Its one stretch of alley way with several video game/comic/movie/cartoon/etc painted up and down its a great sight.

I was born there

Its mostly just famous for its BBQ and the Chiefs Football Team. Expect some shady Shadowrun type characters and shit at night alot. Owen Hart also died in the ring in KC in 1999 during that PPV. Art Alley however is total photograph gold.

I'm willing to bet KC doesn't even have the best BBQ. Just throwin that out there.

We are trying to find places 10 hours or less from Wisconsin that we haven't been too yet

They have an awesome Zoo too thats about it. Outside the city it miles and miles and nothingness you can get lost in easily. You could drive down a country road and be greeted by 1-2 cows that wandered off. If you like Jazz then Kansas City had a humongous Jazz scene that pleases both listeners and musicians of that genre.

the rock music scene of Kansas City is actually pretty meh most of the time with Puddle of Mudd being the most famous Rock band of that city which isn't really good.

Worlds of Fun and the WW1 museum. There really isnt much to do around here except eat and drink. If youre wanting to spend a day in KC while driving by its worth while. KC really isnt a good vacation destination.

If you want to come to Missouri the best place for visitors is probably Branson

Well I have July 5th to the 8th off and have to drive back on the 8th. My other idea was Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh is trash too lol. Theres plenty of better cities to visit in Missouri and Pennsylvania than KC and Pittsburgh.

All Missouri has is KC, Saint Louis and Branson. Maybe the Ozarks...

Speaking as a kc native, it really isn't a destination vacation spot. Great place to live, but not a great vacation spot.

However, having lived in the twin cities for nearly a decade... the bbq scene up here is fucking desolate. If you want bbq, go to kc, but don't expect it to be this super great vacation experience outside the bbq

KC isn't a big sight seeing city. Like it has basically all the big city amenities (multiple sports teams, museums, parks, zoos, theme/water parks, shopping areas, breweries/distilleries) but like it isn't like there is any big attractions if you are traveling from one big city to go there.

I think the most prominent unique KC things would be the National WW1 museum, the BBQ, and the jazz scene. Nelson Adkins Art Museum is also pretty nice and the Negro Leagues Hall of Fame is a must see if you are into baseball.

It's still a fun weekend city though if you keep your expectations and scope appropriate. Sometimes spending a weekend eating, brewery hopping and going to a museum is super fun even if it's something you could do at your hometown if only because every place is gonna be a different.

Of the states surrounding me I haven't been to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Western Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma is pushing it time wise. Texas as well but thats too far I would think.

Countryside of Missouri and Kansas might be boring unless you run into some animals otherwise field after field after forest after forest and so on its like a void that doesnt end.

Weed/Party scene isn't that great in Kansas either unless you got friends/connects there or someone is friendly enough to hook strangers up.
