Usually people in cities have more education than those outside of them.

Also, being in a city makes it apparent that relying on private entities for essentially anything is largely a pipe dream.

The Suburbs are just reverse segregation.

You won't learn anything about the great world, when you are surrounded by people just like you, living in a house just like yours.

  1. Educated people end in major cities.
  2. jobs are in major cities, so the urban population goes to the major cities too, and they cant afford to jump inside their bmws to commute 30 miles to go into a bubble (suburb)
  3. immigrants go to major cities because of the jobs too
  4. so the locals of major cities are used to urban, immigrant and educated people living with them. This means they have humanized them and realized theyre not the evil deadly monsters tucker Carlson and desantis says they are on TV

Basically what everyone has said already.

The larger the city, the more diverse it tends to be, both racially and economically.

It's also why a lot of conservatives think that colleges "indoctrinate" their children, when in reality, it's just a matter of many teenagers getting their first real dose of diversity.

People in major cities like NYC, LA, Chicago, etc all go to schools with diverse demographics and live in cities with diversity.

Not only is there better education in cities, but cities also expose you to a diverse set of people, meaning you're more likely to be sympathetic towards marginalized people.

Mostly probably just exposure to a lot of different people in different circumstances. Suburbia and rural towns are silos of people with similar backgrounds.

Several factors, but we could really simplify this to Post #2 really. Education.

Rural areas tend to hate education.
Stuck in their old way so they have difficulty adapting to the modern era. Change and progress is "scary."
Lack diversity, which sorta plays into the stuck in old ways problem if they have to look at anything outside their usually ethnic purity bubble.
A few additional things I didn't list.

All of it kinda boils down to education though.

I'd hardly call growing up in a diverse population "forced" tolerance, that's a strange take.

More importantly this topic is about why cities are more liberal, not why suburbs are more liberal.

This is really sketchy. So you're saying you consider treating minorities with respect to be forced?

Bet you're a conservative

Also, a lot of it comes from in rural areas you're need to be more self-sufficient and typically don't see a lot of the benefits of tax money being used. When a lot of the roads are still dirt, your water comes from a well, and your waste goes to a lagoon, taxes are bad and the big government is taking your money and spending it on someone else.

Think you guys might be reading too deep into his post.

Pretty sure the user was just getting at growing up in rural areas it's much easier to grow up without having to interact with other races and cultures. Rural areas really don't have to interact with diversity because there more times than not, not enough people to force an interaction.

Cities in a sense do force you to interact. That inherently isn't a negative thing. It's just saying growing up in a city, it's more more difficult to not grow up around diversity.

Hardly. If that user has a past of being pro Trump then I'll concede. I don't post here enough to track everyone

But if the judgement is solely on that one post he made, then that alone says nothing about him. What that user said in that post alone doesn't mean what you want it to. Just calling anyone a Trump supporter however isn't helpful.
