This is the horrific moment a man casually loads a handgun and executes a homeless man on a St. Louis sidewalk.

The incident occurred yesterday outside The Globe Building.

Harrowing footage shared online shows Deshawn Thomas, the shooter, standing behind the homeless victim as he sits on the sidewalk with his hands covering his ears.

After around 20 seconds, the gunman loaded his gun and shot the man at point blank range.

Witnesses said they saw the pair fighting outside the Shell gas station further up the street moments earlier.

Thomas fled the scene and was arrested after entering a public library later in the afternoon.

It remains unclear if Thomas - who has a forehead tattoo and neck tattoo- has a criminal record, or if he was out on bond or probation at the time of yesterday's shooting.

Frightened St Louis residents say it is proof that local leaders including Soros-backed progressive Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner do not have a handle on the escalating crime.

'This is broad daylight! Have we seen enough? We cant sugarcoat this any longer. Its time for STL do some soul searching.

'Our elected leaders do NOT have a handle on this,' said one.

It is the latest incident in a string of the violent crimes in St Louis, which has the fourth highest murder rate in the country.

In 2021, there were 200 murders, down from 263 in 2020 but up from 194 in 2019. So far, there have already been 25 murders in the city in 2023.

unfortunately, a lot of people dehumanize homeless people, and feel they can hurt, abuse, and even kill them.

Some teenager randomly stabbed a homeless person to death in my city somewhat recently. It was horrific and Im sure he will be on the streets in a year or so.

The issue is that the gun in question was just a tool misused. Could have been a knife or a hammer.

Nukes are solely meant for genociding. Not protecting oneself from a singular or group of attackers.

It's indicated there was some kind of altercation leading up to that point.

Still pretty messed up to think this happened during broad daylight. I've gone to that Shell location to fill up a good number of times, but it's definitely one I try to avoid during odd hours. I think I get asked for money every other time I go, but most people will only ask once before trying to find someone else in the lot.
