Hmm, unfortunately I think thats a zero for me next month. Played Hyper Light Drifter a year or two ago. Havent played the first Doom so wont jump in on the second. Also my PC isnt going to be up to that task and FPS and console controllers dont mix for me. So that follows for Neon White too.

I haven't played Eternal, but I highly doubt you need to play the 2016 reboot first if you are talking from a story perspective. If you want to play the first to head into Eternal with a better grasp of the gameplay mechanics then I understand, but other than that, I wouldn't let anything stop you from jumping into Eternal.

I thought there was some amount of story to the new Doom games but probably not enough for a normal person to care. I do imagine that the sequel would be a more mechanically dense game than the original, so it might be hard to go backwards.

It's still a tech issue on my end though. My old ass PC (10.5 years old...) isn't going to play modern 3D games in an acceptable way. Thinking about a new PC but not until later in the year.

I recently beat Doom 2016 and already own Eternal so I might play it next month.

I actually got halfway through Hyper Light Drifter back in 2017 or so. For a few years, I mostly played Steam in offline mode and assumed that every game had cloud saving at that point. When I got a new computer in 2018, I just simply mass uploaded the cloud saves and then recycled the old computer. Hyper Light Drifter was one of only a handful of games that I discovered did not support cloud saving that the time, so it will be nice to revisit this after so long.

I don't recall anyone mentioning that they began any of the annual games, but I started Mass Effect awhile back. I had heard that the Legendary Edition brought significant changes to the original. I think I mentally set the bar too high because I was disappointed at what I could perceive as being changed/updated at first, but after about 6-10 hours in, I'm really digging the improved version. I don't think that I will be doing the random planet excursions much, but that has to be the most improved part of the game. I remember being very frustrated and disappointed with planet exploration and the Mako itself, but they seem to have overhauled it to be very much like Andromeda.

I think that I was a soldier and an adept during my first two runs through the trilogy. I'm a vanguard here, and I sort of wish that I tried infiltrator instead as I'm not using my particular adept abilities much. Vanguards also specialize in pistols and shotguns, which is not a great combo for me. I'm not a fan of the shotgun, so I basically just use the pistol and buff myself out in the field. I can use other weapons of course, and I do sometimes bust out a sniper. I originally had it so I micromanaged my squad's ability usage, but I decided to just focus on their placement and let them go wild with all that they are capable of.

Going to play Hyper Light Drifter and Neon White, of course. Not sure about Doom Eternal. I enjoyed DOOM(2016), but for whatever reason I've never felt the desire to play Eternal. Maybe if there's a nice sale.

On mission 8 of Hi-Fi, now. Not sure how much is left, or how high my chances of finishing it by the end of the month are, but I'm still really enjoying it. Only problem is I can never seem to get a feel for the rhythm. I've played a lot of Crypt of the Necrodancer, and am pretty decent at Theatrhythm, but I've been getting pretty consistent Cs on my timing scores. Hopefully I'll get a feel for it eventually, it hasn't been particularly challenging so far, but I expect I'll want to play on higher difficulty levels eventually.
