I mean it's still massively profitable for them. I think they're pleased.

They just need to drop that pokemon MMO so I don't have to go outside anymore.

Like it was the thing to do until a few major fuckups basically made it frowned on. Now if people see you playing it out somewhere they mock you.

The pandemic QOL changes they made were amazing. Now they've downgraded so many opportunities like halving Poke Stops radius, removing all the good features of remote raid passes and getting rid of the weekly 1 coin box. PoGo may have been huge in July/August 2016 but it was probably the best in 2021/2022. My local county Discord server is still really active, getting together at the main spots in the area for raids and elite raids and Go Tours.

MTX bullshit was always the purpose of the game.

The different gyms(teams?) in my area pretty much each became their own gang, and there was all sorts of gossip left and right about inter-gym fucking that was going on

It's still a top 5 profitable mobile game, and it's less pay to win than anything higher and the next 50 below it.

Also the biggest playerbase of any mobile game besides Clash of Clans. Like, ever

The 1st 2 weeks of Pokemon Go really were magical. After they got rid of the steps and went after pokevision sites, it just dropped off for me and my friends

These numbers might be impressive if it was anything other than Pokemon. Nintendo still out here just making Pokemon Red with slightly better graphics and having it be a best seller as a "new gen".

I never bothered with it because I don't even have a car. The game isn't very playable in America without easy free travel. Its designed for places like Asia where people can get around quick and easy

Doesn't help that the game is still a broken mess which Niantic refuses to fix.

It's perfectly playable in US cities.

You could glitch the game in 2016 easily by waiting for the phone screen to go black then you go back on and it made your character walk off screen several miles and it counted towards eggs and shit. 2017 the game was dead.

I started playing solely for Meltan, but the game grew on me & my sister.

Nintendo is run like a toy company.

I remember seeing roving groups of kids on their phones while commuting. It lasted like what, two weeks? lol
