It's estimated to have lost half of a 10th of a percent of its mass in that period.

Wtf, space is insane.

The sun isn't "burning" its mass in the sense that it's losing it, it's turning hydrogen into helium. The lost mass probably comes from coronal mass ejection

Partly that, but also, nuclear reactions such as fusing hydrogen into helium do result in a slight difference in mass between the input and output products. The difference is given off as other forms of energy as per e=mc^2. The general rule is that mass is lost (and thus, energy produced) by reactions that bring the nuclei closer to the Iron-56 isotope, and the opposite when moving away from it.

Just think about all of the things it has seen in those 4.5 billion years.

It doesnt have eyes and if it did everything would probably be too far away to see.

Nickel-62 is tighter, but iron-56 is stupendously more common.
...and then there's lithium, which has an odd place largely due to the very high binding energy of an alpha particle.

That is not true because the Sun, along with the rest of the universe, was created seven hundred years ago by a guy named William who was trying to invent zippers but ended up with life instead.
