Patty Jenkins is over it.

The 51-year-old director, best known for Wonder Woman, says shes giving up on women directors getting any kind of recognition for their work at the Oscars.

I give up, I give up, she shared with Variety about trying to fight for recognition.

Patty continued, I say that even with all of their push to have diversity. The numbers are just hugely imbalanced of who votes for these things. I sort of just stopped paying attention to it.

Its still going to take a long ways to go. Its going to take a lot more to really see truly more diverse awards. I really appreciate the efforts that theyre making but we have a long way to go, she shared.

My only nitpick is (major spoilers) that she was never in any danger from Ares. He never had any intention of killing her, only in asking her to join him in destroying humanity -- something we all knew she was going to turn down. By the time that he made up his mind that he was willing to fight her, she already had the weapon that negated him. Her calling him "brother" as though it were a twist is something of a missed opportunity too. If you have siblings battle, that might be worth focusing on a bit.

I feel like that kind of hurts the rewatch value a little. That said, I do intend to see it again sometime. March is Women's History Month. Maybe that'll be a good excuse for me to see it a second time.
