Irony posted... Ok novice user So no actual argument to what I said? Just pointing out that my main's in purg? Pretty telling when an ad hominem attacks is all you have. It makes no logical sense to assume most people who are strapped up inside their homes are hoping to get in a gunfight in the dark while they are but naked and asleep. I mean like tell that to people where home invasions happen all of the time like Memphis for example. A shooting range is fun. Shooting ducks, dove etc can be fun. A two way shooting range, inside your own home, in the middle of the night in the dark is not fun for anyone. Sure, there might be a few people that haven't thought out how shitty it would be unless you had NODs, body armor, a suppressed SBR, and are already awake, but most people aren't that geared up, most people sleep at night, and most people, gun owner or not, don't have murder fantasies. I think you underestimate just how many people keep a gun in their house for protection, or you're extremely cynical or maybe you have homicidal ideations and you just assume everyone else does too. Like I said, you'd have a point if you're talking about someone carrying a full size handgun with 3 extra mags with a weapon mounted light to go through the Wendy's drive thru in a rural or suburban town. Someone who has buys a gun that never leaves the house except to go to the range is honestly the opposite of the picture I get when I think of a cowboy hoping to smoke someone legally. And this is based up real world experience as well as common sense. You sound like someone who has never lived in a dangerous neighborhood or at least thinks things will never get bad for you. I hope they don't, and I also hope I never have to use a gun on another human being. But if the unfortunate time comes I think I owe it to myself and my family to do what I can to protect us as well as I feasibly can. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Vhagar995 posted... Can you not ? I eat chicken , yeah ...but why do you need to shoot ducks and doves when theyre going about their day ? You don't need to, but hunting actually helps control the population, it isn't a bad thing. There are bag limits. Poaching or trapping or shooting way over your bag limit is a bad thing. And you eat chicken that live in a cage all their lives being fed steroids and geting inbred and genetically modified . Kloe_Rinz posted... Why do you think a gun being legal or not matters? At some point they all were manufactured and sold legally. Not true. 80 percent receivers, 3d printing, smuggling etc. You can make a 3d printed Glock finish with a 10 dollar Dremel for like $200 and 3d print a auto sear "switch" and chassis system with a stock and a foregrip. Now you have a viable submachine gun for less than $500. I mean I guess we could ban 3d printers but it'd take hundred of years to confiscate all pistol barrels and slides (only metal parts you need) and even then it THAT hard to make that shit. Look up the 1911s and AR-15s they make in sheds in the Philippines with no 3d printing at all. Look up Kyber Pass guns same shit. Machine guns made in shacks in Pakistan. Guns will never be banned in the US, they might ban semi automatics eventually or at least "assault weapons"(semi automatic, magazine fed, high capacity) but they'll never be a full on ban, and mass shootings will still continue to happen. Our best bet on minimizing that is to make our schools more protected and maybe invest in some mental health options for people. Also make less areas "gun free zones" since apparently mass shooters target these on purpose. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Defensive handgun uses in America average around 1.7 million times a year. Statistically this is correct. Owning a handgun for self defense to keep in your home is perfectly acceptable. Owning anything strong enough to kill crowds of people is not. Owning a hand gun out in public should require some extensive safety tests and paper work. There have been cases of people saving others by carrying in public during crimes. The excuse to own something more than a handgun to protect themselves from the government is pretty silly considering the military would destroy us pretty easily. Owning a rifle or shotgun for hunting purposes I believe should require something more extensive for owning them. Im all for digitally locked fire arms that can identify people and wont fire if it does. --- Sig ... Copied to Clipboard!
