I didn't ask or want you to update, Microsoft.

I certainly didn't want you to pester me twice to get Windows 11 before I even get to use my own fucking device Microsoft.

I'm at the point that the next time I upgrade PCs, I'm installing Windows 10 and ripping all of its update functionality straight out of its system files.

Fuck off, Microsoft. If I wanted your shitty OS, I'd already have it.

just use Win 10 Pro, you can disable the update to Win 11.

I had to have it because my old computer shit itself, and all the laptops I was looking at already had it pre-installed.

It's honestly not THAT bad, probably the worst part is that my sound settings reset every time Windows updates. Which is SUPER annoying but if that's the worst I have to deal with, I'll live.

Back on my previous PC which had Windows 8, at one point it started continuously pushing Windows 10 on me (to the point where it would start trying to update automatically unless I was there to click a button to stop it)

Turns out that whatever it was that was making the system do that was basically glorified malware disguised as a Windows Update "security update" that was really just meant to push W10 updates on users. I google-fu'd the specific update file that was causing this and uninstalled it, and the W10 pushing stopped.

As a result of this, I also never allowed Windows Update to run on my computer again. Broke my trust completely. I got antivirus updates from Windows Defender, but that's it.

I have it and have no clue about why people criticize it. It works for me and is not that different to Windows 10 to be honest. Maybe it's just me.

just give up and upgrade
