Been working out again. I used to be in good shape, but I fell off for about 4 years. Never did powders or anything, but I want to speed it up a bit. I've heard most you kinda have to choke down. Any recommendations on ones that taste good?

Thanks for the rec. Just ordered 1lb from Amazon. Will get the 3lbs if I like. Will get here today, too.

I lost my baby grinder and don't feel like investing in another.

Follow up questions. Is one of those shake mixer/tumbler things worth it?
I think remember a guy I worked with saying they ended up being annoying to clean and not really worth it.

Myprotein has the only decent chocolate flavor imo.

And yes, get some sort of shaker bottle. I like the ones with the grate in the lid, but any will work fine.

I just chug my protein shakes because, as you mentioned, the taste isn't really great. So I just do that and immediately rinse it out and haven't had any issues with that.

Cool. That's what I was planning on doing. I'll see how it all goes. Thanks for the advice, everyone.

ON Gold Standard is pretty much...well, the gold standard. The protein is high, and the calorie and sugar count is relatively low.

But protein should really be viewed as a supplement. If you're already tracking your macros and are still not hitting a protein goal, that's when you should try protein powder.

Unflavored Vital Proteins collagen is my favorite. It's not totally unflavored (it has a very slight umami), but it dissolves the easiest and has the most neutral taste.

DotFit Whey is all right, too, but the texture is definitely something that can take some getting used to. I used to get darkling beetle protein from Manna Foods, but they seem to have shuttered and vanished; if you ever find darkling protein, it's pretty good (tastes a bit like sunflower seeds, not as bitter as crickets; doesn't dissolve, but suspends thinly in water).

Why specifically do you believe powders will help you over lean protein?
Convenience.
Don't even bother with your askshully statement. Go be condescending somewhere else.

I'm a big fan of Orgain's creamy chocolate fudge flavor. It is plant based and definitely not the cheapest but it sure tastes good.

No experience with it but I heard Hemp powder has a pleasant nutty flavor. No THC, if you're wondering.

Powders are generally unnecessary if you are getting enough protein from food. It's a good option on the go, though if you dont have time to eat a good meal

Used Isoflex today. I feel like the BCAAs and glutamine helped with endurance and soreness, but I just did a bit of reading on them, so some of that could easily be in my head. Oh, and my sweat smelled strongly of the whey protein

I'm late to the party, but my favorite is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard. Specifically the vanilla ice cream flavor, it tastes amazing.

Although it's 120 calories with 24g of protein, so not quite as good as the stuff you already ordered.

Okay, the glutamine definitely made me less sore. My traps and tris had been pretty soar for days, pretty much no soreness. Looks like there really is a couple perks beyond just getting your protein.
