I never understood why he was so hated by the public as a champion. That part of the story didnt make sense to me.

It seems like he only chose weak opponents?

If I remember correctly, it wasnt that he cherry picked weak opponents like the above poster said, but more so that he came up in a weak era and had no real competition so it was tough to say how great he really was.

Then they ran the simulation between him and Rocky which peaked the interest in his promoters because there were no big paydays out there for him aside from a potential circus fight with Balboa because Dixon had cleaned out the heavyweight division.

Dixon wasnt really a bad guy though. In the end, he needed Rocky as much as Rocky needed him. He was able to truly be tested and Rocky was able to challenge himself one last time and empty his tank once and for all.

I think he was kinda disliked because he acted like he was one of the best Champions but he didn't have a lot of legit competition in his time. Kinda like if someone today compared themselves to Ali.

I really liked him as a Rocky opponent. He was underrated.
