I don't care that I get paid for the hour. That hour isn't really about eating lunch for me, it's about getting a mental break to recharge for the next half of the workday.

At my last internship they loved to schedule paid lunch meetings/trainings for us. As an introvert and who doesn't like to be watched eating this meant I didn't get to recharge myself physically or mentally. Which meant I was less productive than if they'd just schedule the meeting during my working hours.

I agree. It's from the hyper capitalist mindset that we need to keep being productive.

I've actually never worked a job that had a proper lunch break. I kind of just want time to enjoy my lunch and poke at my phone for a bit.
