Longbottom 03/21/23 9:28:43 AM #6:	One of the criticisms I have of No Way Home is that it leans too much on the assumption that people will know and recognise characters from two different series of Spidermen movies. My wife had never seen any of the Maguire or Garfield movies when we watched No Way Home and so a lot of the film just fell really flat for her. Most recent one I've seen is with No Way Home regarding the appearances of past actors. I've also seen it in regards to Joker in The Dark Knight For instance with these two, TDK is elevated from a good movie into one of the best CBMs because of the Joker. It's worth talking about how it turned an otherwise decent movie into a movie that still holds up 15 years later. NWH goes from your bog standard comic flick to a decent one that relies on nostalgia. It's worth talking about how it's not that good of a movie without those things and only barely counts as the best of Phase 4 due to the guest characters being so well done. --- There are some things where I just bypass critical thinking. - ROD <cite>Hinakuluiau posted [p:972313144] in "If y...
