I think the game is trolling me with these steampunk variants. So far I've gotten Yellowjacket, Bishop and Shocker plus a title. All I already had the base cards for.

I have not gotten Cerebro or Falcon. Both of which I do not have the base card for.

Debating whether I can be bothered to climb back to 70 just for reset purposes. Fell down to 66.1 last night but have managed to get back to 68.5 this morning. I've cleared all my missions and season pass though. Got to 79 on the season pass, no variants but did get a huge chunk of gold/credits with the last 6 boxes

I made it to 40, but it felt like some people just handed me wins playing cards on Bar With No Name. This Couple of Cubes Short of a Rank title might have something to it

Im at 70 now, and I guess its where Im gonna stay.

I deleted all my decks to clean it up and now I cant win a match for more then 1 cube.

I retreated from this one, but wow first time seeing 4 Enchantress in play (Absorbing Man copied one and Morph was another)

This was a fun win that happened before I stopped playing, meant to post it but forgot.

T6 play was Dazzler + She-Hulk + Moongirl. I figured he would drop Ultron and it was like the Hangover math scene trying to work out if I'd win with the double Dazzler but losing Devil Dino power knowing Moongirl wouldn't proc.

So uh, I ran into my first Kang. He played last turn, retreated, and froze my game.

Also, why the hell is Kang allowed to let you retreat after use? That's so dumb. Should count as committing to the full turn.

Being able to retreat is like half the point of having Kang.

but yeah the game always freezes if someone retreats during the rewind animation. Dont know why that hasnt prompted an emergency disable but Kitty did

Bar with no Name being featured is bringing out the worst fucking decks to play against.

yeah times like these im glad they changed hot locations to be 24 hours, ill just wait it out

That's dumb.

The point should be you rewind time to know what your opponent is going to do so you can counter it. Not so you can get a freebie retreat. That sucks.

Yes, Kang is maybe my least favorite designed card in the game. Like yeah I can imagine coming up with that in the dev room and thinking it's cool but it's just annoying most of the time.

Daredevil is way better designed than Kang

Kang sounded awesome and in practice is incredibly dumb

So after getting nothing but boosters from 50 to 70 on the season pass, I was given 100 gold 5 times from 70 to 75 so I bought the rock bundle.

thanks to kamar-taj hot location and shuri finally managed to get out of 78/79 hell and get to 80

not that i care about the avatar but starting at 50 next season is nice

I am officially at level 70 with 1 cube, literally one loss from dropping to 69 (nice), and Id rather sacrifice the last few levels of season pass Id get tomorrow than the 10 rank levels Ill lose on reset if I cant get back out of the 60s.

Isn't the sacrifice the credits from the missions you aren't clearing rather than the season pass stuff.

I got back to 70.0 myself and from I think from this point to reset I have to clear at least 4 missions to not lose out on any. So I guess it would cost 300 credits to idle until season reset?

Matchmaking has been super weird for me though. When I dropped from 77 all the way down to 66 it seemed brutal. It wasn't just that I had an atrocious win percentage, it was also that I was losing lots of close stuff where 1 cubes were turning into 2 and 2 into 4 because I'd be losing by the finest of margins where you don't retreat. Lots of meta decks and infinite backs. Then the climb back has been pretty easy with a high win percentage and less meta decks. It's the same deck but it's like I'm matching against a completely different skill level of player. Not just the deck types but the mistakes I see them make and the retreat patterns.

I would have picked my cards immediately and let the time run out on each turn while I made a sandwich ngl

Yeah I really hate playing against Infinite players when I'm not infinite, glad they're fixing that soon. He won with a pretty standard Arnim Zola + Black Panther thing, glad he got to get his 4 cubes from that exciting win.

I managed to get to 80 with my Darkhawk deck so I'm good for the season now.

Last game was against a Beast+Falcon bounce deck. Quantum Tunnel was one of the locations so he dumped his hand on turn 6. Last card to get swapped from the Tunnel was Falcon which put basically everything back into his hand. Very funny

Anyone noticed as you get higher in rank that you encounter more and more players who do JUST their combo and nothing else?

Until I hit 60ish I had never encountered players who just wouldnt play anything the first half of the game, then only play either Suri->BP->Zola or Modok->Hela/Wolverine/Swarm

I mean the early game for most of those decks is some combination of Sunspot, Lizard, or Armor so they probably just didn't draw them.

But yeah it's a little sad that you can skip the first 3 turns and still put 20+ power into 2 lanes consistently.

But that's a fault of the cubes doubling on turn 6. Decks that win on turn 6 are always going to be "better" than decks that win earlier so yeah more people play those.

I see people make plays like that, but they were probably above my tier anyways. Losing to somebody who only played 3 cards kinda sucks though. I imagine theyll nerf Shuri further to just the same lane because I still see constant complaints about her and how boring the highest tiers are

Almost beat a Shuri deck with a Shang play that would've won regardless of their Taskmaster location. Except I forgot Shang would move...

Yup. The location ended up 0/0 and they won on total power tiebreaker

I had Krakoa play a 1/1 Deadpool and Venom on turn 5 as the only cards in the lane when I was using a destroy deck for the 2 energy card mission :(

I dont think Ive ever seen fastforward even with Wong/Mystique/Odin and another On-Reveal. Variant exchange shop continues to depress me. This thing really needs an overhaul. Let it refresh 2-3 times a day, pin character to make them more likely to have a Variant show up, something please

Red Skull and not Shuri huh. I feel like even if you change the other cards Shuri will still remain a problem though

gee is it time for even more red skull buffs

One issue is that if you change her from double power to like +10 power or anything like that, then stuff like Deadpool could become a problem instead

+X power where X is the energy cost of the card shes buffing. Or where X is the energy consumption that turn. Buff Shuri's base stats to be like 4/4 or something to compensate

So she effectively becomes a conditional 4/5-10 which is in line with the other conditional 4 drops. She's just pushing the extra 1-6 power on to a different unit

The only one I see is when I have wong/on reveal/odin/absorbing

wong+modok hitting swarms/helicarrier is pretty much guaranteed to fast forward
