Seeing screenshots remind me how much fun that game was. Can't wait for Y8.

Found all nine missing cats + 4 golden plates. The drop rate had to have been tweaked, 'cause I found all those without even save-scumming to victory. Gonna see what I can scare up at the mechanic -- been thinking about a poison boxcutter, but I might switch Eri to some job that recovers MP on attack, just for a little balance.

Stormed Zhao's eatery, took ass and kicked names, found Nanba and even met my portly pal from the halcyon days. I always wondered what became of that dude -- kinda figured he'd be an ally of sorts when he wasn't shown to be a bigshot or an obviously evil subordinate.

The funny part was Nanba edged out Saeko for the party, then promptly got gunned down by Ishioda, haha. I guess they wanted you to use his new 90-MP move to burn the joint down, but I didn't bother and just threw thumbtacks or something. Lao Ma was weak as hell in his second showing (or is it third?), so it didn't even matter that I had back-to-back bosses.

It was nice that I could leave the restaurant after murdering the tiger and that waiter guy, though.

Yeah you're definitely supposed to lean on Nanba's crowd clearer at that point.

Yeah, the circus stuff was about 300% zanier than most other stuff so far. I like how everything wrapped up with the rookie being blamed for the wrecked excavator, too, haha. Honestly, if you imagine the incident costing him his job, self-respect, social standing, family/girlfriend, his apartment, and forcing him into a life of crime...he could almost be the next Yakuza protagonist.

I murdered the Roomba on my first try when I was last in the dungeon, but haven't been back for awhile. Now that the neighborhood's gone to the Big Dogs (alert: niche Yakuza Joke), I dunno how I'd fare with my current equipment. Maybe I can grind a bit and get some stuff with Tojo medals, now that enemies started dropping 'em.

There's an actual evil roomba side quest at some point that is zany, too. Outside of the dungeon haha.

Hot damn, I killed that super XP slime (vagrant) and got 300K experience. I thought I killed one earlier to do that -- it did appear in my sujidex -- but maybe they all ran away. Good to find one in a hero quest instead of schlepping my ass through the sewers...although I might go in just to grind a bit anyway. I can always bail halfway through with that ladder if things are dicey, I guess.

As for the drops, I did get a watch and ring, but just assumed they were gear -- until I went to sell my gold plate. They were a nice bit o' change. Just shy of four million now.

Should I get the Sakura Storm from Kamulop or wait for something else? I don't wanna spend fifty Tojobux if I'm just gonna get one free later.

I'm only now switching to Foreman and learning I can destroy barriers. I'm guessing that's how I get past those wimpy barricades in the dungeon, haha.

I didn't buy anything yet. In fact, I changed the classes of most peeps out of the party, so it wouldn't even be useful to buy that sword right now.

IIRC you do get a Sakura storm eventually for something? Obviously this is where Cyric could chime in better than myself. I do believe I never purchased one, though. Probably didn't even use one honestly. Ichiban's main weapon is really good, and I didn't have anyone else that used swords.

It's not at all important to get one of every weapon, despite the Part-Time Hero Challenges asking for them.

There is another way to get a Sakura Storm.

Yeah, I figured there was another way to get one. It's powerful, but doesn't seem that special or anything besides.

Anyway, went back to the confection shop to aim for the top fifty companies. I still have the rinky-dink initial shop (which has a ton of upgrades despite its size) and the corner shop I bought earlier, plus a new bookstore and brothel. Didn't know which ones were best, so when in doubt, get the most expensive ones on the market. Probably gonna need to sell that corner shop eventually when something better comes along.

Also, the brothel is staffed by a random street barker, a monkey, and a Roomba, so...it caters to a very odd crowd.

Clara's interjections only cost four points, so she can solo most of these goofballs and let one of my persuasive ringers get the deathblow. Not bad, monkey-kun.

I advanced further into Ichiban Confections stuff and have to square off with the evil guy's aide-de-camp chick (top 20?). I completely kicked the nerd accountant's ass and didn't have much trouble. I like how they let you boost your best employees' stats in a pinch for the board meetings -- the minigame would be pretty hellish otherwise. I sold off some of my lemons and upgraded to other stuff, including a new skyscraper worth 122M. So, I'm gonna, as the youths of today say, "make bank".

I think my personal funds are up to 8.5M or something, so that should be good when I get to the next map...presumably Kamurocho, my old stomping grounds. Although, that area wasn't too big, if I recall, so maybe there's an in-betweener second area first -- my Staunton Island, if you will.

Finished Eri's questline and maxed her bond. Not too hard of a minigame once you get the hang for it -- I don't think my ranking reversed the whole time. Good to know I can keep up the utter domination for quick cash ($3M per?) as well, since I'm gonna need that now that I gave most of my gains to the garage chick.

Only did a little light play today since the new ESO event is up, but I did skidaddle over to Sotenbori. With an eight-star crime level, I thought my dudes would be overmatched, but it's roughly the same fare.

There are a couple of foes you can find in Sotenbori that will give you a run, but they're relatively rare.

Hmm, already found the Juggle-O and Death Knuckle. Maybe there's a worthier challenge.

Just make sure you listen to the game in sotenbori. That's all I'll say haha

I got up to the boss fight in the HQ but Ichiban bought the farm after I kicked Majima's ass. That other guy's two-hit combo that can do 400+ is pretty annoying, but I suppose it's nothing orbital laser spam can't fix. I don't have any resurrection potions, though, so it got a little choppy at the end. I can level up in the arena or load an older save if need be.

Oh, I can take a taxi back to Ijincho. I'd say all that buildup for the journey outside of town suggested otherwise, but I guess they didn't want players doing half-cocked strategies where they couldn't change jobs and stuff.

Oh if you've already got the armors and the orbital laser then yeah I reckon you did have a pretty chill time. I had none of that lol. The Saejima move was OHKO on everyone but Adachi I think?

That boss fight was my first actual death in any yakuza game up til that point. I was pretty bummed, but at least it was a notoriously difficult one, and not some baby mess.

You mean the dual attack? They almost got Ichiban with it the first time, but I did some item spam and kept most people in the fight, though I only had that crappy Hero rez skill that barely worked. I forget if you can change KO'd members out for fresh ones...it's rarely happened so far, so I didn't even think to check. Of course, my other people are just chilling in random jobs with no intention of being used in a fight, so maybe I'll change things up next time (Zhao has a lot of single-target attacks, but if I'm using lasers, maybe Nanba's buffs or something would give more longevity).

Yeah you can swap members when they're full. I think some of them have a "u-turn" type ability where they attack then switch, but I also feel like I may be wrong?

Either way, yeah the dual special attack he does with Majima haha.

Yes you can, but cannot revive them while they're outside of the party, so you'll have to swap them back in KO'd to revive them.

And of course, you're using up a valuable Ichiban turn to do so.

Majima fight was "notoriously difficult" because doing that combat tower was less of a suggestion and more of a "hey, you might wanna, you know, conquer this" but a lot of people were like "nah I'll do it later".

Partially agree. It's still a tough fight regardless when you go in blind.

The rocket launchers from Ebisu pawn were invaluable to that fight.

And, yeah, I can see how the Majima/other guy fight could be a stumbling block. I'm pretty decent at blocking, though, so I didn't mind tackling new situations with some half-assed stuff. Still using Ichi/Adachi/Saeko as my hero, enforcer, and idol, respectively. Zhao was just doing gangster stuff with his saber, but I had Nanba in earlier (before he scampered off for plot reasons) as a musician buffer. Eri did pretty decent as a first-strike thumbtack thrower on fodder enemies -- similar to how Aika gets used for a good part of Skies of Arcadia, haha.

Might look into one-off rocket launchers for some extra kick. Really, now that I can make $3M over and over as the #1 kickass company president, I can finance a lot of stuff, including go-karts (which I'd forgotten about until now). I already used some funds to bankroll casino prizes, though they're mostly CDs and a few class-specific XP farm items. I thought about getting duplicates in case Sotenbori became closed off, but I doubt I'll be doubling up on classes too much. Maybe there's a niche strategy that does that...I think there's a few moves that ratchet up the damage in that vein.

There are a lot of ways to tackle the kyodai fight, but having a multi-healer is pretty much essential. Also, the Peerless Resolve skill can eliminate a lot of the stress.

I went to the park vendor and bought 100 of all the best materials, plus potatos and stuff for MP-refilling bentos, so it shouldn't be too hard to win the rematch. I also can make a few Quixotic Greaves, too, though it might be overkill.

Mostly just did go-kart stuff yesterday. I think I've almost wrapped up the sidequests related to it.
