If you have that opinion, pretty much all the AUs are mediocre and Gundam is only good because of its core elements.

G Gundam is cool if you can get past the racism

Story and character wise, first half of Seed was pretty good, until Kira got the Freedom and went all Jesus and pacifist. Destiny was a steaming pile of garbage through and through.

They both had really cool mech designs (Freedom is one of my favs), and the OST and jpop was killer.

00 is the best series (barring the last movie)

So I used to roleplay gundam, and one thing people used to do to prevent close combat is put a beam shotgun in their chest or waist so they could glass anyone attempting to stab them

I watched it all the way through several years ago, and it was...decent, but the amount of reused animations and the generally slow pacing of the story kinda bored me. I planned on watching SEED Destiny after that, but I just didn't have it in me.

The only thing I really remember is Piano Kid getting like, liquefied inside his flight suit by the heat of a beam saber piercing his cockpit, which is one of the most stressful anime deaths I've ever seen, lol

I envy you not having watched Destiny

SEED is actually kinda boring after the first half as previously noted other than the bad guy who deserved a better series

I loved how genre savvy he was. Near the end, he intercepts some intel and he just starts laughing at how stupid everyone else is and hes not wrong. Kira got lucky imo.

Yeah I think those shows came out around the same time. They copy it in Destiny, it doesn't matter thought because the upgrades don't have it.

Most people accept the first half is solid. The second half is... meandering and forgettable. Destiny isn't that bad.

SEED also has Living CPUs and Extendeds, which are basically drug users.

The ship to ship combat in that series is fucking god tier, especially when a ship gets hit and shakes then cuts in the bridge with the female captain wiggles and you see magnificent tiddies bouncing
