Well not exactly. They probably have a female body. The officer giving the report understood they identified as transgender and with the initial reports of the shooter being female and their social media accounts using masculine pronouns there's probably just some confusion about the language.

Yeah I believe it did.

Something tells me this particular shooter is not going to be thrilled about being identified by multiple news networks as a "female" assailant.

The shooter identifies as He/Him and is supposedly transgender.

The dead students were all 9 years old, I heard. This sounds like another one of those shootings where the killer might have been an ex student.

But I never understand why they come back years or decades later and kill kids who probably weren't even born yet when the killer was at the school. Since the killer is dead, we will likely never really get an answer on why they did it

They did mention that the shooter was a former student. The staff that were killed were all over 60. So he possibly targeted staff that was there back when he was a student. But they are still looking into the shooters motives, so nothing definitive yet

I guarantee you this will end with conservatives calling for a ban on trans individuals owning firearms due to them being "mentally ill" (their words not mine).

Honestly with how aggressive conservatives have been with passing really terrible laws, I'm sure they'll aim for far worse than simply banning trans individuals from owning guns.

Hopefully we can vote against whatever they try to justify though

Yes. In the press conference they said that the shooter was a former student. They haven't revealed any specific motives yet (like if he was targeting specific staff or anything)
