44 billion dollar company has to pay 250 grand and post a notice that they promise to be nice in the future.

If anything this just encourages union busting.

Lol came in to say this. Ultimately it will cost them a lot less than their stores unionizing

Damon Stoudamire was once fined $250K for testing positive for marijuana 3 times by the Portland Trailblazers. He was fined more for smoking weed than a publicly traded company was fined for illegally closing a unionized store.

Should be their entire profit in the entire company for the whole quarter + a full years wages(as a lump sum) and benifits to every employee + the 240k fine.

They need to have some calculate the cost of a successfully unionized store operating for 10 years. Then double it. That's the fine. As long as it's cheaper to get fined for blatantly union busting than it is for a store to theoretically unionize, then they'll keep doing it.

Federal labor law prevents companies from being fined punitive damages; the maximum they can be made to pay under current laws is back pay.

If it's a fine, it functionally vanishes.
The agency involved may get a new Keurig and maybe a brief party, but that's it.

That, they don't...

Chipotle will also have to post a notice in 40 stores across the New England subregion admitting it broke the law & committing to not illegally union busting moving forward. Also former Augusta employees will get preferential hiring (w/ same terms of employment) if they reapply

That, they do

They will use "creative accounting" to funnel revenue and profit into other regions and then say they're losing money in the region necessitating the shut down >.>
