Dark Dawn was shit the only memorable thing was the cute wolf girl and I barely remember her either. It deserved to die along with Lunar Knights

I did buy Dark Dawn. Played the hell out of it. Even beat Dullahan. I like how the plot starts with the Psynergy Vortexes and then gets completely sidetracked and you end up never doing anything about them. Wonder what that was about.

I bought DD. It was okay.

I didn't like them, felt like babies first RPG. That being said they were a very well made baby's first rpg

Dark Dawn was worse in every way.

Got DD day one....hated it. I'd like a remake of GS and TLA though. Especially if they make them into one game like was originally planned.

Also, Nintendo messed up by not including a slot for a GBA cartridge like in earlier DS boxes. Now I have to search a bunch of DS cases to find GS and TLA.

Everything in Dark Dawn was somehow worst than the GBA version.

I did buy it. Literally the only things I remember about it are that it sidetracks you from the main plot to force a sidequests to be the focus. And that at one point point you enter a bird's mouth and exit it's butt.

I bought Dark Dawn! I never did get around to playing it though. In fact I think I can see it laying on a table across the room from me right now, pleading me to finally play it. I won't though, I'm not about to let a cartridge tell me what to do.

Massive class/psynergy rebalance, gives Felix and Sheba different classes from Isaac and Ivan, nerfs summons, dramatically ramps up boss difficulty, changes the weapon types to have real differences (e.g. ankhs and maces now focus on debuffs), raw psynergy now actually scales in damage with max PP, and a ton of other changes.

I will say that the TLA superbosses are kind of brutal to the point where they don't entirely feel fair, though. (For example, Valukar nerfs your stats into the ground and spams SO MUCH STUN JIB MAKE IT STOP I WOULD LIKE TO ACTUALLY ACT EVER) Everything else was much improved and felt very fresh.

Yeah it's wild. The dialogue in the first two games was already bad and too long but DD's is somehow even more redundant.

I didn't like the first game, and I didn't buy the second game, why would I buy DD?

Have you considered switching the box art and just using one with the slot

DD dropped the ball so hard when it had a world of potential. The story almost felt completely unrelated to everything else.

Honestly, even at the time, I don't think Camelot had it in them to do an RPG but kind of forced themselves to do it because of fan demand. It's telling that they only develop shoddy Mario sports games now.

As someone that initally had Golden Sun + Lost Age, watched a LP of Dark Dawn years ago, and only recently got their hands on a copy but haven't played it yet, I still can't see how Dark Dawn is so much of a downgrade compared to its two precessors.

Dark Dawn was uninspired garbage. I bought it on launch at full price and regret it.

Remind me again why we had to play as annoying "clone" kids of characters we already cared about from the first two games instead of the characters we already knew? They weren't that much older in DD.

I don't even know what golden sun is, I accept no blame.

To be fair the GS world is huge and it's believable that a lot of the old characters would be off doing adventurer things. But they could've at let us *see* them. Three of characters with playable kids literally never fucking show up and it's just ridiculous.

I can count on one hand the JRPGs I've played where the MC has a living mom and she just never appears. >_>

Golden sun: A group of kids discover a global catastrophy and work to prevent it, even against friends, to save the world.

Lost Age: Repurcussions from the first game threaten the world again, new alliances with former enemies are forged to come together and prevent extinction.

Dark Dawn: Further Repurcussions from the previous games arise and threaten to engulf the world. So you go fix a kite because your dad will be mad if you don't, then just circle back to the beginning as a cliffhanger.
