I think it's cool you are about to work at a print shop, in high school for a couple years I did half at my normal school, and half at a technical vocational school where I took the printing and graphic design program. It was really old school, but learned on two color presses, silk screening, most of the equipment was ancient though. We had to shoot the negative for the silk screening in a dark room, it was neat.

The ones we used had a manual hand squeegee that we inked on the shirt of whatever, the instructor was cool and once let me make my own band shirt. We mostly did stuff for school sporting events but it was enjoyable and got me into doing some of the stuff I do now.

The press I'll use is like in the pic. Only one colour at a time. But I do multi colour jobs.

The place I'm gonna be working at never cared for doing shirts.

So I can't do that.

I can make sweet band stickers though for anyone who wants them.

I was watching this western show called Godless that Jeff Daniels is in and at one point his character said that was born in or was originally from a town called "Bald Knob" and I missed the next line or two because I was laughing.

How much trouble can I get myself into if I were be drinking heavily and playing around with that machine? Could it make a hand go away?

It's still kinda hard to process this all.

It happened all very quickly. I have a new job in a bit over a week.

The one in the pic doesn't seem to have a safety bar on it so you could probably crush your hand between the screen and the bed.

Its that time of year again where I have to mow my fucking yard. I hate grass I should roundup the whole god damn yard

Lot of people here have gravel driveways, a guy up the road had his entire front covered last year, front yard is just rocks now. He drives a semi and its parked there sometimes so I'd guess that's part of it, but he doesnt have to worry about half his lawn anymore.

Thats the dream right there, I remember when I bought my first place I wanted to asphalt the entire backyard and paint parking lines so it looked like a parking lot.

We're slowly letting clover cover our front yard. It's good for the bees, it's heat/drought resistant, and I'll hardly have to mow it.

A lot of my yard is moss thankfully, there isnt a lot to mow all things considered.

Yeah a portion of my backyard is moss as well. Whatever grass I do have doesn't grow that fast. I only have to mow every 2-3 weeks.

I have like five different kinds of grass so my yard always looks like shit. I mow and then two days later its a fucking dandelion field.

Ill take a pro tip from a guy that lives in an apartment and has probably never seen a mower in real life.

I found out my dog is as dumb as Johnny, went to mow the yard and the dumb fuck went straight for a the mower blade. Shoved his face under the mower and everything. Normally I work like 70 hours a week but since I only have one job this is the first time Ive mowed my yard since I got my dog. Probably going to kill him with the lawnmower honestly.

my parents found a cocoon last year and just randomly "lost interest" and "assumed it died because heat wave and the leaves on the cocoon dried out" (dead leaves always dry out. Doesn't affect the cocoon itself >_<) and put it outside somewhere. I was annoyed. I live further north though so if they kept it, the moth wouldn't be out for another month or two.

yeah they are pretty big. That one's female and females are larger than males. Do you have birch trees nearby? You might be able to find caterpillars on them in a few weeks to a month or so if you're lucky and they're chillin on lower branches. They're big and green also lol

Behind the hotel is just miles of forest, they seem to come in swarms. Last year we had those massive brown ones with the orange eye dots on the wing, but the night I saw one, I saw about another half dozen around the building that night.

All 3 love birch. They have overlapping food sources, but that doesn't need that they come in swarms. It's almost like one type will dominate each year and they'll take turns? Or am I like super fucked up to even think of that? >_> (but I do know that all three do indeed have birch as a primary food source)

Luna (green), Polyphemus (brown), Cecropia (#95) are all closely related and there are other ones like them in North America too that are also closely related. These are just the big 3 up here, and there is so much overlap on them.

If they have some kind of inherent cycle where one thrives over the other two and they rotate year after year, that would be some shit that scientists would pay a fuckton of money to study probably O_O
