DepreceV2 04/08/23 9:41:41 AM #1:	Ive been getting mixed answers on this. On one hand, Im hearing its the most nutritious part of the potato. On the other hand, Im hearing the skin contains a high amount of solanine which is bad? CommonStar 04/08/23 9:43:53 AM #2:	Yeah it's good. Just make sure it doesn't have buds or sprouts, if it does, don't eat it. Systemic pesticides are also absorbed by the parts of the plant that are above ground and then get circulated throughout the entire vegetable, but most of the pesticide content would be in the skin. Potatoes are also sprayed with chemicals after harvest to prevent sprouting. At the very least you need to wash the skin, even for organic potatoes that are grown without pesticides. But otherwise yeah, potato skins are nutritious and solanine is only a problem if the potatoes are green as far as I know.
