Seriously, why the hell has he been putting so much effort into waging war on the largest employer in the state over a fucking irrelevant issue? Like hes clearly mentally impaired if he thinks this has been a reasonable course of action.

Every single action DeSantis takes is done primarily to elevate his clout on the national stage. Looking tough against big ol' Disney is his attempt to shake the reputation that he only goes after people / groups who can't defend themselves (motherfucker even went so far as bullying the Special Olympics during the pandemic).

Do people not realize how huge Disney World is and how many years it would take to reconstruct all those parks and hotels somewhere else? And how many millions and millions of dollars it would cost? It's impossible for Disney to just move.

It's definitely not something that can be done overnight, but I imagine someone at Disney is at least considering a move over the next 10-20 years. Hurricanes are only going to get worse / more frequent (even maintaining enough inland power to potentially hit Orlando hard), Florida's environment is going downhill, and DeSantis' schemes have shifted the state firmly red; a perpetually-submoronic state legislature that is constantly attempting to throw monkey wrenches in their business might ultimately be more trouble than its worth.
