Tacos

Get some ground beef/turkey, brown it on the stove top, then mix in the seasoning & water.

Have some shredded cheese & lettuce at the very least, as well as tortillas or hard shells. Youre ready to go in like 10 minutes.

Personally, I get soft shell tortillas and hard shells. I microwave a can of refried beans for 3 minutes, apply some beans to a tortilla, then put a hard shell inside the soft shell (the beans act as a paste).

I usually have enough leftovers to last for another 2 days beyond the initial meal. The meat can just be microwaved for 2 minutes when you heat it up. Put the beans in a separate bowl, add some water, and microwave for 2 minutes as well.

Porkchops

Yep, this or chicken. Porkchops seem to be a little easier to cook on a grill without drying them out, at least in my experience. I use a cheap pellet grill now and steaks and pork are on it at least twice a week.

If you have an instant pot, chicken cooks pretty easy at I think 8 minutes on high. Mix in some broth, a can of Rotel, and some taco seasoning. Super easy chicken tacos.

Salmon is like $10 a lb where I'm at. Salmon, brussels or asparagus, rice is my go to easy cheap meal. Costs less than $5 a serving.

My cheapo foods that I like are pork and beans with vienna sausage, or instant ramen. I usually like to crack a couple eggs into the ramen and let the hot broth cook them, but if you're on a tight budget then you would skip them :<

Chicken thighs are yummy, affordable, and pretty hard to mess up. Just cook them in the oven at 400-450 until the internal temperature hits 175-200. Yes, you dont want to cook them to 160 like chicken breasts because they will be slimy. And they will still be moist up until 200.

A pretty common meal for me is just roasting a chicken thigh with some vegetables and cooking rice with a rice cooker. Theres almost no prep time involved.

Beans and rice can also be really good depending on how you make it. I make Cuban black beans with white rice fairly often.

I'll take some heat for this but any of the instant meals with hamburger are pretty filling for the price. Yes, I'm talking about Hamburger Helper and Velveeta Skillets.... I only make them occasionally but I usually keep a few of them on hand for emergencies. Usually it's a day I had to work late or I'm exhausted and I happen to have a pound of ground beef that needs eaten or frozen. The kids never complain about it and it's extremely cheap and foolproof to make.

Some of them are better than others too, I like the bacon cheeseburger pasta one.
