I genuinely think they have a legit shot this year. It really depends if Skinner can continue his amazing rookie season because I don't trust Soup.

Zero games on ESPN+?

So long as Disney keeps treating ESPN+ as an additional ESPN instead of a replacement, this is how it's going to be.
If a game is on ESPN, ESPN2, NHL Network, or (very rarely) ABC, it'll be missing from ESPN+ - sometimes vanishing right before puck drop.

Ekholm has been a huge addition too. They needed a guy like him infinitely mire than they needed barries offense.

After the Oilers scored on the 5-on-3 in the first period, 6 of the next 7 penalties were against Edmonton. That's how you lose a close game. Oilers took their foot off the gas in the third and paid the price.

ya idk, mixed feelings on this one, wasnt the worst call this year but with the no calls it was a lame way to see the game end.

Im just sad Kings play Oilers in first round, as they were my two favored going in (even if the Kings are my Ducks biggest rivals).

Oilers are still looking good.

I'm always on the Toronto wagon come playoffs, gonna watch them a lot til they are out, or win, who knows. I like the "haven't won in a long assed time" teams in playoffs.

I mean they were just on a what, 9 game winning streak, losing the first of the series doesn't worry me they were bound to lose a game eventually.

As you can imagine, given that they played a full seven-game series last year, there is plenty of bad blood between these two teams.

One particular incident that irked the Oilers during that series involved Kings defenseman Mikey Anderson, as he took Leon Draisaitl down to the ice during a scrum, which resulted in a high ankle sprain for the German forward.

In a move many viewed as retribution, McDavid saw an opportunity to take a run at Anderson in a game less than a month ago and sent the Kings defenseman hard into the boards in what was a somewhat dangerous play. The Oilers captain received a two-minute minor for boarding, while Anderson left the game and was forced to miss some time afterward as a result. Though he has since returned and is good to go for this series, the Kings havent forgotten the hit.

Never shy to give his opinion, Drew Doughty made sure to let the media know ahead of Monday nights game that he and his teammates werent happy with the McDavid hit at the time it happened. The 33-year-old was unable to play in last years series due to a wrist injury but is ready to go this time around, and you can count on him trying to get some retribution back on McDavid if the opportunity is there to do so.

We didnt feel good about it, thats for sure, Doughty said referencing McDavids hit. (Anderson) was out for a week, week and a half. We lost some games without him, so we werent too happy about that. Its not something well forget. We dont wanna be going to the box, so I dont know if well be taking dumb penalties on them or anything like that, but if we get a chance to smack him, were going to try and do that.

You take away goals scored in the last 5 seconds of a period and it's still a competitive game.

What happened to Toronto? Same old same old again it seems. I generally dig the Leafs but they keep going up the ladder of biggest playoff chokers

It isnt helping their cause much that Tampa has made the finals the last 3 seasons, they are built for playoffs and a very tough squad to beat. Not sure what Toronto even does if they lose out again in the 1st round. Somethings gotta get mixed up.
