Yeah I started undergrad at Bama in 2006, the year before Saban was hired. Visited again in 2013 and the campus looked completely different. New buildings everywhere, a lot of new dorms, and the admission requirements increased significantly where I probably wouldn't have been able to get the same full ride scholarship I got in 2006. I remember browsing some stats page on the school website around that time showing how enrollment for out of state students had ballooned (As someone from Atlanta, I personally didn't know jack about Alabama before senior year of HS and only applied there because they were throwing money at anyone with decent grades). NYTimes and Forbes had an article about it some years ago too. It wasn't all Saban but the exposure the school got because of the football program was pretty crazy --- Roll Tide & Go Irish ... Probably most, if not all, feedback into the sports programs and anything that can boost recruitment, like nicer living for students, more extracurricular amenities like pools and gyms, etc. --- =E[(x-E[x])(y-E[y])] ... Yeah, plus a lot of the times when you see campuses totally reinvent themselves they just turn around and double tuition. No University out there is putting entirely new academic buildings on campus and then saying "it's paid for by their football program." --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz.
