This seems like it would be a sin

Everybody sins though. All you must do is ask for forgiveness and above all else except Jesus as your savior.

It's probably why it became such a popular religion. It allows a lot of room for fucking up.

You could always donate the money or tithe on the money.
it's not that easy

No. It is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than a rich person to go to heaven. Ergo I would definitely go to hell.

^I know there is a large faction of Christians who believe that, but sorry no. If you're a terrible person but say "I believe in Jesus" or whatever on your deathbead, you aren't fooling any person. Why would you be able to fool God?

Read John 3:16 in context and you'll see it talks about the importance of good works. You could even argue that "believing" actually requires you to do good works.

I mean, if you believe and advocate that others should believe as well but you do not perform good works in the name of said belief, then you're little more than a hypocrite. And God hates hypocrites.

I thought the catch was you had to be actually sorry for your sins. Which is easy if you truly feel your going to hell

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
