Some interesting facts:

- This was the first thing that coined the ubiquitous robot phrase "DOES NOT COMPUTE!"

- The robot's designation was 709, which may have the naming inspiration of Seven of Nine in Star Trek.

- The show was not only a bigger bomb than My Mother the Car, but was also involved in a scandal due to lead actor Bob Cummings willingly injecting sheep sperm and monkey gonads in an effort to keep up youthful appearances (but it actually turned out to be mostly meth, and he became an addict.)

At least his first name was Bob (or Robert). Imagine if his first name was Richard.

Then the male lead in a show about a sexbot would be Dick Cummings.

This role was also what Julie Newmar was predominantly known for until she debuted as Catwoman, prompting her to respond to the jokes about her being a robot.

Fascinating!

Because of that dead eye stare. Even in the 50s people were like that ain't good. You would not watch Jeannie and think she had to do horrible thing that she didn't want to do. The dead eyes from the doll says it all.
