People view reality through their phone. So it's difficult to understand that a phone's camera lens is not the same as your actual eyes attached to your head

A mirror reflect lights.
When you look at a mirror from the side, it reflects different lights than if you watch it from the front.

All matter reflects light. That you can see at all is because there is a light source for matter to reflect photons. Here, there is a angle of reflection that allows the mirror surface to reflect the light of the charger plug, even though it's behind the paper.

Because in fact, a mirror isn't a static camera outputting what it can see ONTO a surface. What it is doing is reflecting ALL LIGHT from every possible angle in all directions.

Well, to be pedantic, it's not all light; to my knowledge there is nothing that exhibits 100% reflectivity. And the phenomenon experienced when you actually see a reflection is the result of the angle of reflection equalling the angle of incidence rather than a diffuse reaction. So we can see things in the mirror even if it seems like the mirror shouldn't be able to "see" the object

Okay fine. It's close enough without getting into the raw physics of mirror reflections (which I had to look up anyway to be sure I wasn't just saying complete nonsense). It's better that anyone thinks that then look "Dawg the plug covered by the paper how does it know? Gotta be a mirror world or something, what are they not telling us?"

Yet the mirror clearly can't see what's behind the paper.
So how'd it do it?

Go ahead. I'll wait.
