You need to take into account that we get more from cows than just milk.

We also get beef, leather, gelatine and who knows what else I dont know about so that needs to be taken into account as well.

The argument was brought up that almonds use a lot of water, I showed that cows used more.
Almonds have other uses as well. And cows used for milk aren't the same ones that are used for meat. You can also look into non-cow alternatives for meat (or protein in general) and other products.

We eat other animals flesh on our food pyramid, we eat plants that aren't us. Consuming things from other x is just called eating. Eating something not from another is called cannibalism.

I feel like cow's milk becoming unpopular was a very gradual thing. Definitely didn't happen overnight.

The dairy industry should go the way of the dodo.

I've never liked the taste of milk. I only use it in cooking, making ice cream, or for cereal.

Touting it as a sports and gamer drink is weird. Especially to people who sit on their ass to play for a few hours.

It's why the response to the importance of protein content and fat in milk was to throw up a chart about the environmental impact of cows. Don't have a counter argument? Just start a different one and keep doing it until people give up. Then pretend like you've won.

Dairy Milk is gross on its own but I can tolerate it in cereal and coffee and as an ingredient.

Meh. While it's true that just replacing cow's milk with almond milk in dairy-based baking recipes won't yield strong results, vegan baking is its own budding industry. You can find vegan recipes for just about any dessert you can think of.

And "but mah protein" has always been a poor reason for rebutting a more plant-based diet. There are so many plant-based proteins out there. Plus soy milk has just as much protein as cow's milk.

For years, I thought I had a bit of lactose intolerance-- but then I found a regional chain that doesn't pump their cows full of hormones, and I can have milk or ice cream from them every day of the week with no problems.

More companies should do this if they want more customers.

I love cow milk and its still my #1 preferred dairy beverage but I am not using as a regular drink like my parents had for us growing up. Theres a decent amount of fat and sugar in that, I am not at risk for being lactose intolerant but I love cheese so I am also getting dairy other places.

I will totally fuck with some Almond milk (just not for cereal). Ive got those premade cartons of Chai Tea and added vanilla almond milk to it and it fucks pretty hard.

Dairy is bad for your skin and hair. And it makes you fat.

Not gonna lie though, the average milk you get at a grocery is GARBAGE compared to actual milk from a farmer's market. So if they're worried about people's perception of milk, stop putting out sub par milk and you'll probably get your market share back. But wait...you need to make money and that's expensive AND THE SHAREHOLDERS!

You're not gonna win with this strat if you admit that your milk quality is shit and don't want to do anything to improve it.

Milk alternatives are great in cereal, non dairy creamers have been a thing for a long time and most cafes offer milk alternatives, and there are plenty of other fats that are regularly substituted in for butter. Hell, margarine has been around and popular for a very long time

My wife can pretty much only drink coconut or oat milk :(

They don't? Most dairy products are explicit in notifying that the product doesn't have added hormones / the cows aren't given them

I cant remember the last time I bought cereal. I use oat milk in my coffee.

As for butter, I use Kerrygold so that isnt helping Americas big dairy.

Milk is a good source of calcium, but thats its one virtue.

I honestly just drink the fake nut shit because I think regular milk is fucking weird

You only absorb about 30% of what is listed as available. So if a glass has 300 mg, you absorb 90 mg. Truthfully you are better off getting your calcium from a supplement.
