i buy generic allergy medication and can't tell any difference. same with most other medicines like that, tbh.

I 'upgraded' from 2nd-gen AirPod Pro's to some $50 Soundcore earbuds off Amazon. The audio quality's better, they're more comfortable, the battery life is a lot better, and the only downside is that the case doesn't support wireless charging.

Cheaper smartphones can be better in some ways. They sometimes have a headphone jack, removable battery, SD slot, and FM radio tuner.

anyway, I would say most H-E-B branded stuff tastes just as good if not better than their counterparts and is cheaper

Soundcore make great products.

Kirkland... basically everything, Shark hand vacuums, and Diatomaceous Earth come to mind.

Always do this.

Just check the active ingredient, as long as it's the same thing in the same dose you're literally throwing money away getting the brand.

I can't speak on all foods, but most wal mart branded stuff is still manufactured from legit third sources, as in no change to the ingredients. They just get manufactured exactly the same and get put into a "Great value" box.

Edit: And this is true for Target branded stuff, Trader Joes, ect.

It isn't for enough to be relevant. And even then the quality isn't necessarily good even then. Like, milk is repackaged name brand but milk quality took a complete dumpster dive about 10 years ago and buying name brand isn't the route to good quality milk.

I also buy off brand medications, far cheaper.

Many years ago my dad watched an episode of How It's Made (or a similar program), and swore the segment where they were canning Money's brand mushrooms you could see cans for No Name brand in the same area.

I've also heard Target brand garbage bags are identical to Glad bags.

It's crazy, but I can't think of a "generic version" of something that I necessarily like better. Brand naming is just ingrained into my skull I guess.

I don't think you get what I am saying. Target brand, Trader Joes brand, Walmart brand, even Kirkland are all made from the same manufacturing source. It's a cheaper to make a contract with a name brand, and just repackage it. There is no change in quality for the majority of pre packaged foods. Now where they source their vegetables, diary, and those foods could be questionable because those are likely in-house corporate mass farming. So you are likely to get less quality ingredients from those sources.

For instance, majority of ice cream cones are just repackaged Joy-cone cones. Most fruit snacks are just repackaged Mott's, ect.
