What was it like?
I like spicy stuff, but that just seems like too much.

Something tells me eating something that hot would literally stop my heart and kill me.

I did and it wasn't fun. Great for a dare and bragging rights, but not for taste.

I wouldn't recommend it, tbh.

Never had the actual pepper by itself but Ive had a number of Carolina reaper sauces. Just slopping it all over food would be a mistake but its not the worst Ive had.

The closest Ive ever come is Carolina Reaper-flavored smoked almonds. I can eat one, like, every other day.

My roommate grows them. Along with several other super hot varieties.

I'm pretty ok with spice but a tiny sliver of one of those things raw is an insufferable few hours.

Cooked down in hot sauce (that he makes at the end of harvest) it's more bearable but still fucking tortuous.

A couple of years ago, yeah. My brother and his visited and had some peppers. They tried really hard to push me into trying one recording it for YouTube. I refused but they kept pestering until I relented on the condition that there was no video.

It hurt my stomach/chest more than burning my mouth.

Now I will never get to laugh at you while you suffer. Kinda selfish of you, tbh.

I eat pretty spicy in general, but I'm pretty scared to try something that might potentially turn me off spiciness. I've had some really hiccup inducing spice before. But nothing that would be like straight up pain.

I've never eaten the whole pepper but I've had flakes of it sprinkled on stuff and sauces made out of it. I love the stuff personally.

The hiccups are a good sign I've found over the years. When you get them, just stop doing everything and wait for the hiccups to go away and don't try to fight them. After they're gone, resume eating. Your tolerance for the spice will have gone up & unless you way overdid it, you'll probably be able to finish your meal without additional hiccups.

Many times. Eating them straight is... not fun. But I do keep a few jars of different flavors of Carolina reaper sauces in my fridge. I love cooking some of them into different dishes.

I'm not a major scoville-head, but I've had hot peppers including ghost peppers, which were all pretty spicy but they never had any other ill effects. I tried a slice of Carolina Reaper and my entire face could feel the burn.
