X8 was a return to form in some regards, but it's very gimmicky and the endgame isn't that great. It has fans though. X9 in a classic style (whether SNES or PSX) would be welcome. The X series at this point is just off the walls. But the flying one was admittedly janky in its design. Hard to tell where your shots were going or what was even happening on screen.
