Can someone close that fucking site down now? This actually pisses me off they continue to do stupid shit and are still relevant. One of their Chinese writers were doubling down on it saying "BuT iTs nOt AiMeD at JApaNese people!!"

Fuck that. Why post this in the first place then? Especially aimed towards modern Japanese companies and the people there.

Edit: For further context, this was aimed at the blacklists Nintendo and Square Enix placed on Kotaku. Both for leaking Zelda and calling the entire team including Yoshi-P racists respectively.

Kotaku is a garbage company upset that their domestic friends are consistently outshined by Japanese creators who don't care about an American publication. It's all just jealously that people like Japan and it's stupid. Remember when G4 was on TV and Adam Sessler was literally saying Japan wasn't a country until after the nuke civilized them? He defended that joke on Twitter recently! They're so jealous of Japan it literally enrages them.

If I want to give him a little credit (though it's arguably the opposite) I think it was meant to compare it to Nazism, and he just didn't realize exactly what the picture was when he posted it.

The best case scenario is him recognizing that the pilot would actually be the video game company in this metric. Him being the one shot down makes a lot more of a thing considering that's how a blacklist works, and considering he is the kind of person that would post that type of picture in the first place he is certainly pretty deplorable.

Kotaku was always terrible. I've never understood the type of person who defends them. The entire website simply exists in a symbiotic relationship with AAA game developers as a de facto arm of their marketing departments - where they give 5-star pre-release reviews to whatever new bajillion dollar game comes out and in exchange the developer sends them more pre-release games so that they get to be the place for gamers to get early news about a game. And evidently that fact is exemplified by the tantrum they're throwing now when a single game studio rightfully decided to sidestep them

according to his following twitter apology he was trying to communicate that he was proud that kotaku is blacklisted by companies and was attempting to convey that by googling kill count markings and posting that when it came up.

It lead to an article that was just compiled info from all the other articles that other publications had written lol. And of course the writer was in the comments bitching about the blacklist.
